Bluff Park Art Show: October 7
Help support Birmingham’s artistic community this fall break! Bluff Park’s Annual Art Show will take place from 9 AM to 5 PM in front of the Bluff Park Community Center. More than 150 artists will display their work to visitors alongside performing jazz musicians. Children from three to eight can participate in hands-on art activities. Barber Motorsports Vintage Motorcycle Festival: October 6–8
Kick off your long weekend with Barber Motorsports’ Vintage Motorcycle Festival! The 13th Annual Vintage Motorcycle Festival will be held at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds. Daredevils will compete in events such as the Wall of Death, Freestyle Motocross, and the Globe of Death. Butterbean Festival: October 6–7
Celebrate your long weekend with a festival you’ve probably never heard of! The Alabama Butterbean Festival will take place in Pinson during this long weekend. Diehard fans flock to this event to honor the butterbean, more commonly known as the lima bean. The festival kicks off Friday night with a fireworks show. On Saturday, the fun continues with a 5K race, a car show, and a carnival. Food, music, and arts and crafts are also available throughout the weekend. Admission is free. Magic City Classic: October 28
Enjoy a Birmingham tradition this month! The 76th Annual Magic City Classic between Alabama A&M and Alabama State University (ASU) will be held at Legion Field on October 28th. The McDonald’s Parade kicks off the day at 8 AM with floats, bands, and dancers parading through downtown Birmingham. Then, the Coors Light Tailgate intensifies the mood with vendors and live entertainment in front of the stadium at 10 AM.
