Letter from the Editor
So, it’s March. Allergies, lowered attention spans, and spring-break excitement abounds as we settle into 2020. I sat at my computer for approximately one hour chugging Orangina before the idea for this month’s Letter from the Editor was suggested to me: A 2020 So Far List, As I Perceive It. I hope this list serves to update you on 2020 thus far, in case you haven’t been keeping up.
(In no particular order):
March begins with what is sure to be a quite lovely and deliciously dramatic Super Tuesday (vote if you can, seriously)
Dr. Davis published his book, Contested and Dangerous Seas: North Atlantic Fishermen, Their Wives, Unions, and the Politics of Exclusion, which sounds cool (it was actually published in December but Springs posted the announcement on the website in January so it counts)
EIGHTEEN Springs students won scholastic art and writing awards
The coronavirus spread :(
The physics team won second place at a state competition which was probably very difficult
The Choir Toured
Lots and lots of people are helping out with the Australia fires (and you can too)
Jack and Dylan sprouted mushrooms out of a bucket
Joseph Katz was published in the New York Times (you can find his article in this issue)
Bong Joon-Ho made his Oscars’ kiss
Yay March! Yay public opinion! Yay Woodward Post!
Best,
